EEA Meeting 2017 in Amsterdam

The Dutch Elasmobranch Society was pleased to host the 21st Annual European Elasmobranch Association Meeting from 12-14 October in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The EEA meeting sessions covered perspectives for spatial management, movement ecology, coherence in international legislation and policy, selectivity, survival, and discards of elasmobranchs in fisheries, and elasmobranch husbandry. Keynotes have been given byDr. Neil Hammerschlag, Dr. Robert Hueter, and Dr. Kim Friedman .

The three-day conference was held at the grand building of the KIT Royal Tropical Institute, only a stone’s throw away from the city center with all its famous historical sites and landmarks, and within walking distance from the Amsterdam Zoo and several beautifully landscaped parks.

A diverse programme of lectures and breakout sessions covered key topics in the study of cartilaginous fishes.
